We are hoping this will give us a much better insight into the views and ideas of GTFC supporters and help us significantly in representing our members at the meetings with the club. To our knowledge this is the first time the customers of GTFC have been consulted in such a comprehensive way and we would encourage everyone who has received a survey to take 10 minutes or so to complete and return it. Obviously the more we get back the more accurate the findings will be. This follows on from a small workshop we did last year and some individual queries we have received. These will be incorporated into the final analysis although one or two can be covered off now.
Request to make chips available on match days- The current catering facilities are not suitable for frying and it would take considerable investment to convert. The caterer does have a unit that is sometimes available and interestingly he brought it to the Huddersfield game but only sold 14 portions of chips on what was otherwise a very busy day. The survey we have just sent out covers catering and so this will enable us to feedback views on the general cost and quality.
Surcharge for telephone bookings - This has been introduced this year in an attempt to recover costs incurred for card transactions and the view of the club was this would be the simplest way of doing it. As this is new revenue it was decided to apportion this revenue to the Youth dept in the hope that it would appease those impacted. The issue with it is that there is no distinction between debit and credit cards (although there is a difference in actual costs) and it impossible for those impacted to avoid the cost as they do not have an option to attend in person to purchase tickets. In truth it is unlikely that this will be changed now for this season but in the meantime we have agreed to look at and recommend better ways to cover this cost next year.
Main Stand Clock - This is wrapped up in the project to replace the scoreboard which is close to completion. The issue is that the clock alone is £2k to replace and so will depend on the final cost of the scoreboard project as to whether a separate clock is viable. The scoreboard will incorporate a clock so either way there will be a solution very soon.
Match day ticket collection. View that club shop too congested on match days due to ticket collections. Will be reviewed to see how bad the issue is and whether there is a better solution.
