As you know one of the benefits of being a member of Mariners Trust is that you get preference for all ticket games ahead of them going on general sale. For the Scunthorpe game you will be able to get your ticket on Friday November 1st before they go on general sale on Saturday. All you need to do is quote your membership number and name and the club will be able to check it against the list we have given them. If you have lost or cannot remember your membership number just e-mail us at [email protected] and we will reply with your number. UTM
Our website has changed! Thanks to our friends at Ark Creations for the Web Design. (check them out at http://www.arkcreations.site88.net)
A quick run through of the new elements; - You can nosey at mini profiles of Board Members at ABOUT US (though as soon as we did that, a few new folk arrived as new Board Members, more on that soon....). - On the main page, there is a Column-style approach of; Our Aims, Trust News (i.e. the Blog), and Social Media happenings, worth checking regularly to see what is going on. We've also kept the side bar with links to local GTFC-related news stories so if you visit the site daily you can use it as a place to catch up on up to the minute Mariners news. - If you visit the Mariners Trust SHOP, you can join the Trust, or sign up a friend as a gift, or purchase tickets for events. - The CORPORATE MEMBERS page currently tells you of 5 local firms who support the Mariners Trust; so if you think your employer, and even your company, should join that elite few, please get in touch, and our technical wizards will try to sign you up and stick your logo with the others. - And we hope to update the FAQ section shortly... Watch this space, and as ever, any ideas, thoughts and the like are appreciated As you will probably already have heard, the Mariners have been rewarded for disposing of Rushall Olympic on Saturday with a home draw in the first round proper of the FA Cup against Brian Laws' side. The draw was made Sunday afternoon, and with the possible exception of the Yorkshire derby between Rotherham and Bradford, looks to be tie of the round! (Certainly to residents of North Lincolnshire....)
It is a tie which most Town fans will welcome - a chance to test our current team against local league opposition, against our neighbours, who have a former Mariners player-manager in charge, as well as a couple of ex-Town players on their staff in Paul Harsley and Tony Daws, and most of all, a chance for a bumper crowd, and hopefully a victory, with bragging rights locally, and the financial benefits of a cup run and an extra home game. The game is set to take place on Saturday 9th or Sunday 10th of November, which means that the league game at home to Welling United will be postponed. We are awaiting to hear whether it will be selected to be televised, and whether that would mean a change to the expected 3pm kick-off time. Today is the 150th anniversary of the FA and also the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup and so what better day to launch our latest fundraiser which is linked directly to the FA Cup.
We are absolutely delighted to launch our Grand 2013/14 FA Cup Draw . Tickets are £1 each and are available online in books of 10 and from all the bars in the ground as well as from Mariners Trust board members. There will be 32 winners when the draw is made around the time of the fourth round. The 32 winners will each "win" one of the teams still left in the competition. All 32 winners will receive a cash prize of £10 and the eventual overall winner will receive a minimum of £500 , the runners up £250 and losing semi finalists £75. Prize money is as stated or 50% of ticket sales whichever is the greater. This draw is in aid of GTFC Youth development so please support and help the future of the club. As well as buying tickets yourself we are also looking for people who can sell some books to family, friends, work colleagues etc . If you think you can help with this please get in touch by e-mailing us at [email protected] and we will make arrangements to get some books to you.
