When gates of 4,000 plus are anticipated the club has decided that the simplest and safest way to manage numbers is open to those in the upper findus only during half time. This has been the case for a number of seasons and the club have been exploring alternative options to provide enough facilities for everyone within the ground but this problem just further emphasises the fact that the facilities at Blundell Park are not fit for purpose. The bars in the main stand are also expected to be very busy again and as usual we will operate a one in one out system once full.
It is to our credit that since taking on the running of the bars vast improvements have taken place and in turn this has seen increased usage - for which we thank you for.
All fans are still able to access the bar before the match from 12noon where we will be showing live football on the TV's (12.15 ko). All fans are also able to visit after the match to watch the match highlights.
The Trust have worked with the club and on this occasion as a festive message of goodwill will allow any season ticket holders in the lower findus to exchange tickets for other areas of the ground at no extra cost (if upper findus).
It is also worth remembering that Blundell Park is an all-seater stadium and that persistent standing can lead to fan ejection or even in extreme cases closure of areas of the stadium We would ask that all fans be respectful to fellow supporters and should familiarise themselves with the legalities of standing in an all seated stadium http://t.co/Cnrbo9GqgC.
We are also aware of a problem in the main stand on Sunday when tickets were sold for seats that do not exist. We have taken this up with the club the mistake in the system has now been corrected.
Thank you for your continued support and although it has been rare to have to implement these rules hopefully increased attendances will expedite a solution.
May we take this opportunity to wish all supporters a happy new year and hopefully 2015 will be a good one for us all.
