Town start a hectic March with the visit of Salisbury.
Recent injuries have limited the options open to Paul Hurst, who doesn't seem to wish to rely on the current crop of teenagers to fuel our promotion push, so with Messrs Colbeck and McDonald joining Hearn, Thomas, Tounkara and McLaughlin on the treatment table. we have a new signing; a striker, a belated Hearn replacement you could say. Welcome to Connor Jennings!

Scunny striker Jennings joins the Mariners in time for tomorrow's game and fitness permitting, its likely he will start too, given that he was so prolific for Macclesfield earlier this season before injury intervened (the official site says 17 in 18, BBC have it as 16 in 18)
If he scores 6 or 7 in 8 games in a month for us, I'm sure we will be most pleased. Ironically, for all our moaning about fixture congestion, in this respect it may just work in our favour. Hmmm.... Anyway, my quick excuse for research tells me that Jennings is 22, has been loaned to Stockport and Macclesfield having joined Scunny from Stalybridge, and without wishing to put pressure on or jinx him, he is a proven scorer at this level. (The bbc website helpfully excludes him from the Conference scorer list AND Macclesfield's scorers too?!?) The less than reliable Wikipedia says 14 from 15.
Anyway, to summarise; the squad for tomorrow; McKeown Hatton Bignot Pearson Doig Fyfield Kerr Disley Thanoj Rodman Neilson JohnLewis Jennings Hannah Southwell Cook. So there are 16 names now we have Jennings, with the youth products slightly unfortunate that their positions aren't where the injuries are (e..g. Paul Walker is a right back, we have 2 fit right backs, Tom Charlesworth, a centre mid and of our main 4 only Paddy is injured). Any last minute problems and those 2 may come into contention for bench warming.
2. Pre-game Drinking!
The Mariners Trust Board are a sombre, sensible and sober lot (?!?!?!-Ed) but despite this we all enjoy the occasional pint before a game at Blundell Park; many of us will be found in one of the Trust Bars prior to games.
Of course, the games are coming thick and fast over the final 8 weeks of the season, and this Saturday's game against Salisbury is the first of eight home league ties left.
Just for fun, can you name the eight remaining opponents without checking?
Anyway, back to topic; please remember to use the Trust Bars at the ground as a meeting point prior to games,
Those of you who visited the bar prior to last Saturday's cup tie may have seen Chelsea beat Everton in the early Premiership game, and no doubt there will be some Premiership action to view before some Town games; but even when there isn't, we try to put on some entertainment, including clips of recent Mariners action.
Up the Mariners!
