and this one shows that most clubs have at this stage pretty much kept to a home;away;home;away pattern, and have managed half their games at each so far. Its called BALANCE ;-)
For example, starting at the top; Luton; 14-14, Cambridge 13;15, Gateshead 16;15 BUT there are always exceptions....
GTFC's ratio so far is 15;12.
I reckon GTFC should be on AT LEAST 30 conference games by now, whether that would be 3 more via non-postponements (Forest Green, Wrexham, Dartford) or Trophy-related rearrangements (Southport,Barnet, oh I've lost track!) or a combination. Please see previous blog last week regarding proposed reforms to start the trophy earlier, or change the playoff and trophy final venue, etc etc etc.....
Elsewhere in the Conference, Braintree have played just 11 at home, by my reckoning the least as that ranges, before tonight between 11 and 17 (Hyde), various on 16. Eleven? Four less than us, and we've had numerous Cup home ties to fit in! Braintree; that is poor. Away, its a range of 12 (us), with 3 teams on 13 away games and 17 (again 3 teams).
What I am trying to say here? Well, it is frustrating that thanks to postponements, we've had less awaydays, and will have lots to cram into the second part of the season, and every single team in the division has played at least 1, some as many as 5 more away games than us. Not only have we played too few games, and it seems we are due a game every 3 days MINIMUM from here on in , but it is not of our doing, as we've managed a reasonable amount of home games.
Moan moan moan, but am just analysing how our situation compares, and basically it is just about the worst in the division. The only thing that cheers me up ever so slightly is the comparative plight of the 3 teams who have postponed games at our expense. It shouldn't but..... Wrexham, FGR and Dartford were a sight better last season, so let's hope when the games eventually do take place, we can get some points from all 3! d
