Today's blog was going to be a brief Quiz review and a mini Nuneaton preview.
However, yesterday's big news was of course that striker Liam Hearn had been released early from his contract, at his own reques. Less of a surprise to those who heard Paul Hurst's post match FGR interview, in which he was specifically asked about Hearn and admitted we may not see him in a Town shirt again., but still big news in the GTFC community.
There has naturally been plenty of online coverage from the usual sites, including a nice 7min+ interview with the man himself, in which he speaks highly of the fans and the area, and plenty of tributes and compliments to him on twitter (he is @hearnz10)
Anyway, by way of tribute, some random other Liam highlights;

Who would have thought that Liam's goal-scoring cameo at home to Barnet, back in November, would have been his final appearance, his final Town goal? And that the innocuous looking injury sustained in the final minutes of the game would have been so serious as to be his final appearance of the season at least? A 20min cameo, with a goal, which ultimately secured the 3 points, and then the disappointment of being a subbed off substitute. see also; http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24969233I'm sure that Trust members would join this blog in wishing Liam well for the future, and we've already spoken to him via twitter about some event/him being our guest at a future game.
The Trust Quiz went well, and I hope we can bring news of a repeat event soon. As for today's Nuneaton visit - it is a big game (admittedly they all are at this point) but their manager has just departed to join Wrexham, meaning that each of our last 3 opponents have had recent-ish managerial changes, as have most of forthcoming opponents for that matter. For a list of managerial ins and out, see; http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26399507
Our hosts today sit fourth currently, four points ahead of us but having played 4 games more. There's a clever comment there somewhere....
And finally here's a shout out to the fans team the Internet Mariners who I believe play a Coventry fans team today, prior to the Nuneaton game. Come on you Internets!!!!
