During the AGM only current paid up adult and senior members can speak and vote but for the open discussion anyone can attend and speak including non members. For the AGM members can submit a motion to be included on the agenda and these to be with us in writing by noon on Monday 6th October.
One very important part of the agenda will be the election of board members. We are very conscious of the need for continual improvement in everything we do and to achieve this we need new people to join the board with fresh thinking and lots of drive and commitment. We have space on the board for at least 3 new members and it would be great to see a few people coming forward to take up the challenge. In the unlikely event that we have more candidates than places we will run an election to decide who is selected. In truth we need people who, as well as bringing new ideas and opinions, will also pick up and run with initiatives and see them through to their conclusion. We also need people who are willing to help with the behind the scenes administration which is ever more demanding as we continue to grow. As you know we have two representatives on the Grimsby Town board and all of the board have regular contact with the club's senior staff. The relationship with the club is very inclusive and so individuals with time to give and the right skills can play a key role going forward, especially with the new stadium project on the horizon.
If you think you would be suitable and like to be put forward or would like more information please do not hesitate to contact us by e-mail at [email protected] or speak to any current board member. To be on the board you must be a paid up member and so if you are interested but not yet a member you will need to join up asap.
