- Well, the next round of the Cup is upon us, and whilst earlier in the week, our guest blogger talked of ex-Town players at Northampton (see also toogoodtogodown's match preview). Being contrary, let's do the opposite.
- Before tomorrow's game, the Trust bar is open early (12 noon) to show Newcastle United's trip to Old Trafford. I don't think the Toon Army have a Costa Rican on their books; that's seems to guarantee victory there these days. So maybe a draw ;-)
- Tomorrow's Guest Town Legend is Tony Ford, who will be touring the bars and mingling, signing autographs etc..
- The Trust Race Night was postponed due to Thursday's extreme weather freakery. Watch this space for rearrangement news for early 2014.
Which current Town players have played for tomorrow's Cup opposition, Northampton? Please ponder that a second, answers below.
Meanwhile, here are a few more reminders/summary of recent @MarinersTrust tweets;
A: Chris Doig, likely to be a sub tomorrow, made over 100 appearances for them.
- And the next best I can manage is the obscure fact that a certain Rob Scott played 5 games there earlier in his career. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Scott
I associate Northampton with the Play Off Final, Kevin Donovan and promotion, and more negatively, with that Cup game where Gary Harkins was...well.... Gary Harkins-esque. Let's hope tomorrow is more former than latter.
Probable GTFC team; McKeown, Hatton, Thomas, McDonald, Pearson, Kerr, Disley, Hannah, John-Lewis, and choose two from Colbeck, Rodman, Neilson, McLaughlin.
Subs; the other 2, plus Bignot, Doig, Thanoj, Cook and Southwell.
Possible NTFC team; centre back Ben Tozer has been loaned out to Colchester, and bbc sport tells us that two players are ineligible, striker Izale McLeod, and winger Stuart Dallas, so it could be;
Duke, Amankwah, Widdowson, Reid, Deegan, Ravenhill, Kouo-Doumbe, Demontagnac, Platt, Emerton and Blyth. But there will be at least the two changes from their last game due to the above; http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25063620
