LICENCE:
Thanks to friends on Facebook, I've got the link to a decent Paul Hurst interview from the Non League Paper to start with today, and if you have a nosey, it reveals that the Town gaffer recently obtained his UEFA A-Licence. So, congrats Paul!

The Telegraph reported this summer that Paul and Rob Scott were studying the A Licence. Wonder if Rob has completed it too?

Reading a zillion Mariners related pieces on the web daily is an addiction this blogger confesses to, it kills time waiting at bus stops, that's my excuse. Plus, the more you read, the more trivial snippets you pick up. May as well share them here ;-)
BIRTHDAYS:
Thursday is the big league home game against Kidderminster. In the local rag's Dave Moore interview to promote this game, it was mentioned that it was Dave's birthday on Tuesday, so belated happy 54th birthday Dave!
On the subject of Mariners' birthdays, my reliable sources (confession; I looked on Wikipedia) tell me that Clayton McDonald has his birthday on Boxing Day, it was Scott Kerr's birthday last week (oops missed that), and a surprising number of the first team squad don't actually have wikipedia profiles at all. Boo, sort it Slade!
ANCESTRY:
Talking of random snippets of info, the ITV GTFC;Northampton coverage mentioned that Town winger Scott Neilson comes from a famous Welsh footballing family, including Spurs' Cliff Jones, which begs the question, is he Welsh enough in ancestry to represent Wales? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Neilson More thinking aloud, might he be related to ex-GTFC full back Alan Neilson.
MEMORIES:
And talking of famous footballing families and the Mariners, that leads us nicely back to the Moore family. As has been mentioned all over t'Web, Thursday's game has a Mariners Memories theme, the good cause being supported is raising awareness of dementia. As you know unfortunately, Dave's brother Kevin, former Town skipper and long-serving centre half, passed away earlier this year having suffered with a rare form of dementia. The idea of raising awareness by having a themed game, encouraging a series of articles in the local paper and presumably fund raising and the like at the ground, appears worthy and should be supported. It is likely to affect us, directly or via relatives/friends/colleagues, so on a sombre note, it requires some thought and support.
Finally, on a more positive note, one of my personal favourite Town memories is of being led out of the tunnel as Town mascot by Kev Moore many years ago, a great player and a nice bloke. A Town legend. Hop on to twitter and post memories to @officialgtfc to show your support. UTM!
