Now, we at the Trust should declare an interest here, as a number of Trust members, board members and ex-board members have contributed to the programme this season. (And have been thanked accordingly in the above article too ;-) )
But credit where credit is due, the vast majority of the praise is owed to GTFC employee Jack Johnson, who, is not only a recent beaten finalist at FIFA night (http://marinerstrustblog.weebly.com/1/post/2014/02/trust-fifa-night-2-review.html), but is also the club's Commercial Assistant, with particular responsibility for The Mariner. Lots of hard work by Jack, and a team of occasional volunteers = a quality product.
So, if you don't normally buy the programme, we recommend you try it at the next home game, the Play Off Semi Final vs Braintree/Cambridge/Gateshead/Halifax. Hopefully you will be impressed. If you wish to contribute to the programme during next season, please drop Jack a line at the club with your ideas/suggestions/articles. Let's hope that next season's accolade is the Best Programme in League 2.....
In the meantime, let's conclude today's blog (again, leaving the match preview stuff to This Is Grimsby, Cod Almighty, the official site etc..) with some programme-related links:
1. TGTGD promoted in it August; http://toogoodtogodown.wordpress.com/2013/08/25/the-mariner-grimsby-towns-matchday-programme-is-a-great-little-read/
2. A piece from 2011 to compare it to; http://toogoodtogodown.wordpress.com/2011/08/20/a-behind-the-scenes-look-at-the-mariner-grimsby-towns-award-winning-matchday-programme
3. Follow the GTFC programme on twitter; https://mobile.twitter.com/gtfcprogramme
4. Download back issues of The Mariner for a small fee; again, either contact the club, search the official website (or Google?!), and find the relevant link; http://www.grimsby-townfc.co.uk/news/article/download-your-halifax-programme-1489779.aspx or perhaps best just to go to http://www.extra-gtfc.co.uk/downloads/ as that seems more direct ;-)
